Massage Therapy is one of the oldest healing arts and touch is a core ingredient which communicates a sense of caring. As defined, massage is the application of soft tissue manipulation (massage of muscle tissue) techniques to the body, generally intended to reduce stress and fatigue while improving circulation.
The benefits of massage today are varied and far reaching. Accepted as part of physical rehabilitation programs, massage therapy is proven beneficial for many chronic conditions, including low back pain, arthritis, bursitis, fatigue, high blood pressure, diabetes, immunity suppression, depression and many other conditions.
Millions will attest massage is a key enabler in helping to relieve stress and tension of everyday living that can lead to disease and illness. There is no denying the power of bodywork. Regardless of the adjectives you or I assign to it, whether it be pampering, rejuvenation, or therapeutic principles or the reason we seek to find or enjoy a luxurious treat for oneself or for others, stress relief, or pain management, Massage Therapy can be a powerful ally in your healthcare regimen.
